In their fight to hunt down the UK's most wanted tax fugitives, HMRC has taken the unprecedented step of publishing photos and details of 20 transients on an FBI style noticeboard in a bid to encourage members of the public to help find them.
Tax Fugitives
The 20 criminals that HMRC are eager to bring to task have collectively cost the taxpayer over £765 million. All of the individuals concerned have fled after being charged with a crime or during trial. Their offences centre mainly on VAT and smuggling although there are also cases of money laundering and income tax fraud.
