The London Evening Standard recently reported that the actor Edward Fox confessed to walking off with many of the clothes he wore during the 1970’s filming of ‘The Day of the Jackal’.
He described the practice of lifting costumes off the peg as “an actor’s trick” and that he still wore some of the jackets and cravats from that film.
HMRC love a good media story and any opportunity to mix it with the world of celebrity. Mr Fox’s revelation of potential loss of tax on perks may be just the invitation HMRC are looking for.
