Q. I am a limited company with all insurances – public and private to £5m and employers to £10m. I contract through a third party and they say I need to carry the same levels as them. They are a big company (millions) I am a small company(300k). Can you help.
A. It will not always be the case that you should follow the limits of indemnity held by your client, the limit should reflect the perceived exposure to losses which will of course depend on the profile of the insured business. We would however always point out the need to adhere with contractual terms of end clients or agencies, and would suggest the best course of action may be to see if the client is willing to accept a lower limit of indemnity.
