RTI – Did Anyone Forget?
Does everyone remember RTI? Yes? No? Well just in case anyone forgot, thousands of employers are soon going to be on the receiving end of RTI reminders. Since its implementation, around 1.6 million employer PAYE schemes, covering over 40 million individual records, are already operating real time information (RTI) system. There are many who have slipped through the net however, HMRC having identified thousands of employers who are to be urged to play ball.
The Roast of Margaret Hodge
Regardless of our opinions, it cannot be denied that much like Kermit the Frog and Zippy, Margaret Hodge is fast becoming a household name. Now as much as the ‘nation’s favourite battle-axe’ lacks the charm or appeal of the afore mentioned hand puppets, Hodge certainly brings her own panache into the tax avoidance arena. What do we think about our new tax avenger? Well the jury is still out on that one.
