What insurance does my Limited Company need?

Q. What kind on insurance cover will I need as a contract BIM Technician running a one man Limited Company with a turnover of 50K?

A. As a BIM technician, you are likely to visit client sites and interact with their engineering teams, as well as be at risk of alleged claims for financial loss caused by the provision of your services. You may therefore wish to consider the following, however we cannot advise you as to which policies you need – you should check your contractual agreement for any insurance requirements and consider the risks you face. Please visit the Business Insurance page for information on each policy.

  1. Public Liability (and Employers Liability if relevant)
  2. Professional Indemnity

You may also wish to consider tax/IR35 Insurance, legal expenses insurance, and contractor sickness cover policies.

I switched over to QAccounting a few months ago and haven't looked back. I get to speak to my own client manager and accountant, the prices were the best I had seen, and I paid exactly what it said online (no extra costs). Very happy with QA.
