Over 2 BILLION people are now on Facebook. This is huge considering less than 4 billion people on the planet have access to internet.
In the UK, this is much higher with over 60% of our population having a Facebook account making it the perfect platform for speaking to a mass market of ages and locations.
First off, you need to be active! The platform is bringing word of mouth to your newsfeed with recommendations and you want to be up there with the top suggestions especially in your local area.
Just like your website, this is a platform to promote yourself and services. Show galleries of previous work done and include customer reviews. The more material you showcase, the higher your ranking when people search for local services.
If you are new to the area and not sure how to penetrate the market, invest in social advertising. Digital ad spend surpassed print and now TV for the first time in May 2017 so you need to make sure you’re competing for the lucrative space in your customers newsfeed. Whilst marketing spends can sound costly, it’s cheaper to advertise on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn than traditional methods like flyers or newspaper ads.
To ensure you get the most out of social media, every business should know it’s market and which platform will work best. If your work is highly visual and creative, start an Instagram business page. If you work in a more corporate sector such as finance, a LinkedIn page is the way to go.
A recent global study has found that organisations are unlikely to survive four more years unless they undergo a digital transformation and 80% of businesses already believe that the digital age is leaving them behind.
