PAYE taxpayers, i.e. employees and those who suffer tax on a company pension, and tax agents can now use an online tracker called 'Where's My Reply' to ascertain when they can expect to get a reply from the Revenue to a query or request that they have made.
HMRC Launch Online Enquiry Tracker
Employees can use the digital tool to check how long it will take HMRC to:
- issue an income tax refund;
- reply to a general income tax enquiry;
- provide a copy of individual information, such as a tax code or pay and tax details; and
- send official HMRC forms and stationery.
Tax agents can also check how long it will take HMRC to process an application to act for a client, amongst other things.
The tracker cannot be used for any other query than mentioned above, in which case taxpayers should contact HMRC.
More subjects are expected to be added to the tracker in due course.
