DIY Residency

Tax Residence Indicator now up and running

The Tax Residence Indicator (TRI) tool is now being piloted on HMRC's website and can be used to check whether an individual would be deemed resident in the UK for tax years 2013-14 onwards for the purposes of income tax and capital gains tax.

Subsequent results following the use of TRI will be dependent on accurate information being given. Before taking the test HMRC recommend that taxpayers read the 101 page 'Guidance Note: Statutory Residence Test'.

Results of the test can be retained for future reference in case of enquiry by HMRC.

Those wishing to use the TRI can do so by visiting the Check your residence status page.

I switched over to QAccounting a few months ago and haven't looked back. I get to speak to my own client manager and accountant, the prices were the best I had seen, and I paid exactly what it said online (no extra costs). Very happy with QA.
