Self Assessment: Umbrella Loan

Q. I have been asked to fill in a 2013 Self Assessment for a time I worked for an umbrella company. I was given a loan by the company. How do I enter this into my Self Assessment?

A. If you received a loan from your umbrella company the total value of the loan received should be entered on Page E1 box 15 during completion of your Self Assessment tax return. If you are completing this online the details must be entered when completing the “Employment” section of your online return.

I switched over to QAccounting a few months ago and haven't looked back. I get to speak to my own client manager and accountant, the prices were the best I had seen, and I paid exactly what it said online (no extra costs). Very happy with QA.
